Allow me to reintroduce myself

I’M BACKKKKKKK!😎

If you are new here - Hi! I’m Tiona Lynn! This is actually my second go around with this whole blog thing. I ran a blog from 2017-2021 and I wrote about all things style, beauty, travel, and lifestyle. I worked with some really incredible brands such as Sudio, Venus, L’Oréal, Philosophy, Funky Buddha, and BareMinerals. Unfortunately, I was working full-time and I had started grad school full-time and something just had to give. That something was my blog. I thought I was going to pursue a doctorate after grad school and I honestly never thought I’d come back to blogging, not for a lack of passion, but lack of time.

Fast forward to now (2023) and I have recently made the very difficult decision not to pursue my doctorate at this time. Sad… but here’s the positive part, I had missed writing tremendously… just being creative in general and here we are, my blog is back! I’m also 2 years older and my life has changed a lot. Instead of writing a book for you to read, I figured I’d give you a little update in a Q&A format. Here we go:

How old are you?

32!

Do you still live in Texas?

Yes, I moved from Richardson, TX into a loft in the heart of Downtown Dallas, TX.

What do you do for a living these days?

I am now a Senior People Operations Specialist for a security and compliance company.

What will you be writing about this time around?

I will be keeping topics/categories from before such as Style, Beauty, Lifestyle, and some Travel, but I will also be adding Leadership, Wellbeing, Weekly Quotes, and Weekly Roundups! My Weekly Quotes will be locked with a passcode, in order to receive the passcode, you will need to subscribe to my blog 😊

Why did you start blogging, and what keeps you going?

I originally started blogging as a fun way to show my family what I was up to while living in Texas. My family is spread out among the U.S. so it was an easy way to show them what I was doing. It was also an outlet to release my creative side - taking photos, putting together outfits, playing around with make-up, showcasing places I had traveled and topics I felt passionately about. This time around, I will still discuss the topics I had previously, but I also want to discuss topics that have become important to me and are close to my heart - leadership & wellbeing. As I have grown in my career I have really found my voice and I’d like to use this as an outlet to share my voice on why these topics are important, what they mean to me, and hopefully they become resources for you as well!

What’s your favorite thing to write about?

Wellbeing and lifestyle. Lifestyle is just fun because it encompasses so many different things. Now that I’m in downtown Dallas, there are so many exciting places, restaurants, and events I can introduce you to! Wellbeing will always be my favorite topic to write about though. As I’ve grown over the years, I have become incredibly comfortable in my own skin and it has allowed me to find the confidence to be open with y’all about what has worked and hasn’t worked for me in navigating life. Of course, what works for me may not work for you and that is totally O K A Y!

What is the underlying message/theme of your blog?

Leaving people better than I found them, and also living a semi-balanced, but totally wild life. I think it’s important to show and let people know they are not alone. We are all just trying to navigate this crazy life the best way we know how. Life is messy and beautiful and complicated and fun and sad and heavy and lovely all at the same time, so why not let me show you how I navigate my weird life - this way you don’t have to put yours on the internet, I’ll do it for all of us 👽

Who do you write for? What does your audience look like in your head when you write?

I write this for whoever is willing to read it. At the end of the day we are all humans just trying to get through the ebbs and flows of life. You can learn something from every single person you cross paths with. One of my favorite quotes is, “If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.” And I’m pretty sure there are other iterations of this quote but I wholeheartedly believe that you should be willing to learn something from whoever you surround yourself with. I also write exactly how I talk, so hopefully you feel like we are having a conversation as you read through my blog, or maybe you just find it incredibly annoying 🤪

I also just want to say, thank you for being here. Thank you for reading this. Thank you for returning. Thank you for being a first-timer - I hope you stay awhile. I also hope you get something out of this ♥️ If you want to learn more about me and my background, please visit my About Me page.
