Good morning! Happy Wednesday! Happy hump day! We have survived the first month of the new year, and we are now headed into the best month. I’m just kidding… kind of. I’m bias 😉 Alright onto the quote!
“Remember, you wouldn’t be grieving if you didn’t love. So in a messed up way, grieving is a gift. Some people don’t grieve people they lose. Maybe they do for a moment, but they won’t understand your grief because they haven’t shared a love like you have. They haven’t opened themselves up to love like you have. This kind of grief you’re experiencing, the kind that weighs on you everyday for months and months, is a kind of grief that some may view as dysfunctional but I view it as a gift. To have experienced a love on earth that makes living without that love unbearable is something not everyone experiences. Keep on keeping your heart open. I’m proud of you.” - Jacqueline Whitney ✨
In the midst of grief, it may feel inconceivable to perceive it as a gift. Loss is life altering, it can feel as though your heart is quite literally shattering, a tornado that storms your soul and you’re left feeling so alone and helpless putting the pieces of your heart back together. Even if you have all of the worlds support behind you, it can be a lonely journey with no handbook on how to be okay again. There may be days, weeks, or even months where the heaviness is too difficult, and that’s okay. Do whatever you need to do - without guilt. Survival is exhausting and grief is survival.
The silver lining? Grief also unveils the resilience of the human spirit. It showcases our capacity to endure, adapt, and eventually find hope and healing. As we navigate the tumultuous waves of grief, we unearth the depths of our own resilience and the unwavering human ability to mend despite the shattering pain. Grief challenges us to confront our vulnerability and reevaluate our priorities. It prompts us to reassess our purpose, values, and aspirations. Through this introspection, we often emerge with a newfound clarity and strength, propelling us towards personal growth and a deeper appreciation for life.
To grieve is a testament to the richness of a bond shared, and it serves as a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of our existence, urging us to embrace each moment with heightened gratitude and intentionality. In its wake, grief inspires us to live more authentically, love more fiercely, and savor the present with profound reverence. So, in the ebb and flow of grief, let us not see it as an affliction to be swiftly discarded but as a solemn celebration of a love that transcends the boundaries of mortality. For in the end, it’s a testimony to the profound, life-altering love that not everyone has the privilege to encounter.
Trust your journey. Rest your soul. Always leave people better than you found them and have a beautiful day and a lovely weekend! 👽🫶🏻🧿
