Hi, hey, howdy my beautiful humans! Sorry about not sending a quote last week, my week was filled with chaos. Good chaos, but there just weren’t enough hours in the day to get it done. And yes, I could write these in advance but I like writing them in real time for you. Anywho, I hope June has been good to you… let’s get to the quote of the week! 👏🏻
“Working out will make you feel weak, when it’s actually making you stronger. Learning new things will make you feel dumb, when it’s actually making you smarter. Investing in yourself will make you feel broke, when it’s actually making you rich. Facing your fears will make you feel terrified, when it’s actually making you braver. Never hold yourself back. Strive to be better tomorrow than you were today. Thank yourself later.” -Anonymous ✨
I think this quote captures the paradoxes we often face in our journey toward self-improvement. It's a reminder that progress and growth are often accompanied by discomfort and doubt, but these feelings are not signs of failure. Instead, they are indicators that we are pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zones, which, as you know by now, is where true growth happens.
When you first start working out, your muscles ache, and you might feel weaker than ever. But this temporary weakness is the precursor to building strength. The discomfort is a sign that your body is adapting, getting stronger, and becoming more resilient.
Learning new things can make you feel overwhelmed and even foolish at times. It's easy to get discouraged when you don't understand something right away, especially when it seems as though everyone around you is a pro. However, this feeling of inadequacy is a natural part of the learning process. It signifies that your brain is stretching, forming new connections, and ultimately becoming smarter. Every expert was once a beginner! Ps. You can also learn and do new things because you simply enjoy them or wanted to try it out. It’s okay not to win an award for everything you do 😉
Facing your fears can be terrifying. It puts you in a vulnerable position and tests your limits. Yet, each time you confront a fear, you build bravery. You prove to yourself that you can handle more than you thought possible, and this courage spills over into other areas of your life.
Investing in yourself can sometimes feel like a burden. Whether you're spending money on education, starting a business, developing new skills, or dedicating time and effort to improve your quality of life - these investments can feel costly in the short term. However, these sacrifices make you richer in experience, knowledge, and personal growth. The feelings of being broke or stretched thin are temporary; what you're gaining is a wealth of wisdom, resilience, and self-awareness. By investing in yourself, you're not just adding value to your life, you're transforming it, ensuring that your future self will be grateful for the efforts and resources you've devoted to today.
What I want you to get out of this is: It’s totally normal to feel these emotions. My call to action is: Do not ignore these uncomfortable emotions but work with them. Recognize that feeling weak, dumb, uncomfortable, broke, or terrified is a natural part of the growth process and you will come out on the other end.
These feelings aren't barriers; they're the building blocks of your progress. Embrace the discomfort, as it is a sign that you are on the right path. It's about perspective - understanding that these feelings are temporary and are paving the way for a stronger, smarter, wealthier, and braver you. Never hold yourself back. Strive to be better tomorrow than you were today. And when you look back, you'll see how far you've come and thank yourself for pushing through the hard times.
Here's to embracing the journey and all the emotions that come with it. Keep striving, my beautiful humans. Your future self will be thankful for the journey you embarked upon today 🌟
Trust your journey. Rest your soul. Always leave people better than you found them and have a great day and a delightful weekend ahead! 👽🫶🏻🧿
