Happy Wednesday! Happy September! I hope everyone had an amazing (& hopefully long) Labor Day weekend. My blog is officially live, so if you’re reading it here - Hi & welcome 🤗 If you are still receiving my quotes over text - I relaunched my blog, go check it out and subscribe at tionalynnblog.com 😉 Enough about me, let’s get to the quote:
“Life isn’t about being perfect, it’s about turning your quirks into your credentials. Life isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being the oddball who writes their own story, not the pawn who moves as told.” - Case Kenny (@case.kenny on Instagram) ✨
That was actually two of his quotes that I just turned into one because they were short and I liked them both. Comparison is tough right? We’ve all experienced comparison in one way or another - comparing ourself to strangers, friends, and even family. Comparing what we have, what we make, what we do, where we travel, the way we look, constantly scrolling through social media comparing a life to a life - The problem with comparison is we are pulling ourselves out of our own journey whenever we compare ourselves to others. When we start to challenge these beliefs and drop more deeply into our own story, we see less of what other people have and start to see what we have to offer to ourselves - our own experiences, our potential, strength, skills, quirks, humor, kindness, patience, resilience, bravery. The list truly goes on and on. And the thing to remember is, you will NEVER make everyone happy and why would you want to? Focus on the people who don’t bring you, your energy, and your spirit down. You will laugh more this way too, I guarantee it.
Once you start focusing less on other people and more on yourself, I guarantee your entire perspective will change. You will rely on yourself. You will take more risks. You will use your voice. You will have more time for the things that truly matter to you. You will write your own story full of authenticity, happiness, adventure, experience, and wisdom. And most importantly, you won’t be looking back on your life wishing you had done all the things you were too scared to do because someone you will never see again in this lifetime might laugh at you. OR maybe, just maybe, they will see you do something they themselves are too scared to do and look at you with bravery and courage. You might just make a small impact on someone. Your choice.
PS. SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT REAL 😊
Trust your journey. Rest your soul. Leave people better than you found them and have a beautiful day and a fantastic weekend! 👽🫶🏻🧿
