Hi, hi, hi my sweet, beautiful humans 🛰️

Welcome to the month of March! You already know what I’m going to say - new week, new month, fresh start 😉 But seriously, how are we already here? January felt like a whole decade, February blinked out of existence, and now somehow, we’ve crash-landed into March. Am I the only one who feels like we’re six years into 2025 already? Oof. Time is totally fake, but hey, at least we get another chance to reset, realign, and dive into something new, yes?!

Alright, let’s get into it:

“Self-love is the only ocean you can never drown in. The deeper you dive in, the more your lungs fill with air.” - Billy Chapata ✨

Wowza… Let it really sink in. And now I have to write on this? No pressure, right?! Such a beautiful quote, but now you want the deep dive? Ahhh, okay let’s do this:

Self-love has become a cute concept or a buzzword, but if you really think about it - it’s the foundation of everything! It shapes the way we show up in the world, how we handle life’s highs and lows, and even how we allow others to treat us. When we truly love ourselves, we stop just going through the motions - we start actually living. We stop looking for external validation to prove our worth. We build relationships from a place of wholeness rather than emptiness. We stop settling, stop shrinking, and start choosing ourselves in ways that align with who we truly are. Self-love isn’t about perfection - it’s about embracing yourself fully, even on the days when it feels the hardest.

Self-love isn’t just about treating yourself to something nice and saying affirmations in the mirror (although, I really love that for us and think those things are important too 👏🏻). It’s about what happens when the waters get rough, when everything in you wants to retreat, shut down, or numb out. It’s about diving deep into the parts of yourself that you’d rather avoid and realizing that, no matter how far you go, you will not drown.

Because self-love? It’s the air that fills your lungs, the lifeline that carries you back to yourself when everything else feels heavy.

Everyone feels good when life is smooth - you know, when we’re laughing, celebrating, and surrounded by love. But real courage? It’s found in the moments where joy is absent. When the weight of the world is heavy, and we choose to meet ourselves there anyways.

Self-love doesn’t just exist in the light, it exists in the shadows as well. It asks us to sit with ourselves in our rawest, most unfiltered moments and say, I see you. I hear you. And I love you anyway.

So, let me ask you a few things:

👉🏻 Can you sit with yourself in sadness without rushing to numb it?
👉🏻 Can you hold yourself in discomfort without running from it?
👉🏻 Can you extend love to yourself, especially when you feel unworthy of it?

That’s where the real work happens. That’s where self-love transforms from a cute concept into something unshakable, something that breathes life into your lungs, even when everything else feels suffocating.

Some days, self-love looks like deep rest. Like taking a break, saying no, or giving yourself permission to just, be. Other days, it looks like choosing to show up, even when every part of you wants to shrink back. It’s not always soft and gentle - it can be tough love, uncomfortable growth, and holding yourself accountable for the things that will make you better.

But here’s the thing: you won’t drown in this. Not in your sadness, not in your past, not in the chapters that didn’t go the way you planned. Because self-love isn’t the thing that pulls you under - it’s the thing that teaches you how to swim.

No matter how deep you go, self-love will always be there to carry you back to the surface.

As we step into this new month, take a moment to reflect on these questions. Whether just in thought or through journaling:

🌬️ Where in my life have I been holding my breath instead of letting myself breathe?
🌬️ What does diving deeper into self-love look like for me right now?
🌬️ How can I meet myself with patience, especially in the moments when I need it most?

Self-love isn’t a place you arrive at - it’s an ocean you learn to swim in. And the deeper you go, the more your lungs fill with air 🫶🏻🚫🛬🌊🏊🏼‍♀️🫁💨

Trust your journey. Rest your souls, lil’ saplings. Always leave people better than you found them, and have a lovely day and a glorious weekend ahead! 👽🫶🏻🧿
