Happy Wednesday! Good news, we are back to our regular scheduled quotes. Before we start I do want to say thank you to everyone who listened to the podcast I was guest featured on. Y’all are seriously so good to me and there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think about how lucky I truly am to have each one of you in my life! Enough of the blabbering… I know you are dying to know what the quote is today.
“Don’t judge yourself through the eyes of others. They don’t see all your struggles, all your scars, all your parts that are still healing. Through your own eyes, see your efforts in becoming better. And to see that if you feel small - it’s probably because there are still so much spaces you can grow to. And you can start exploring now.” Jerico Silvers ✨
In a world where judgment often feels inevitable, where societal standards dictate much of our self-worth, it's crucial to remember a simple truth: our value is not defined by the perceptions of others and I will keep repeating this until it finally hits home for you.
How often do we allow the perceptions of others to define us? We forget that people only see what we choose to reveal, often missing the depth of our journey, the battles fought behind closed doors, the wounds we've tended to in solitude, and the inner transformations we've undergone. When we measure our worth solely through external validation, we overlook the resilience it took to overcome obstacles and the strength we've gained from our struggles.
Instead of seeking validation from others, turn inward and acknowledge the strides you've made. Seriously, take a second and think about how far you’ve come and all of the different things you’ve accomplished. Celebrate the small victories, the moments of growth, and the progress you've achieved on your personal journey of self-improvement. By recognizing your own efforts, you reclaim agency over your narrative and reaffirm your intrinsic value. It’s also not a bad idea to surround yourself with others who genuinely want the best for you, lift you up, support all of your insane ideas (btw, your ideas probably aren’t even close to insane - small people have just made you feel that way in order to make themselves feel bigger 😉).
And look, I get it, feeling insignificant or inadequate or just not enough is a universal experience, but it's also an opportunity for introspection. Rather than succumbing to self-doubt, consider it a signpost pointing toward unexplored avenues of growth. Embrace the discomfort as a catalyst for expansion, acknowledging that your potential knows no bounds. Every setback, every moment of vulnerability, is a chance to learn, adapt, and evolve into the best version of yourself.
The journey of self-discovery is ongoing, an ever-unfolding adventure ripe with possibility. Embrace the process of exploration, daring to venture into uncharted territory and discover facets of yourself you never knew existed. Give yourself permission to experiment, to explore, to stumble, to learn from every experience along the way, and to do the things that you are dying to do but are too scared because you think people will judge you. And you know what? They might. They might judge you, but it’s because you took a leap they were too scared to take.
As you navigate the complexities of life, remember this: you are more than the sum of others' perceptions. Allowing others to define us relinquishes our power and autonomy. We become passive recipients of labels, stereotypes, and expectations imposed by external forces, rather than active participants in shaping our own narrative. See yourself through your own eyes, honoring the resilience that resides within you and embracing the endless possibilities that await. The most beautiful transformations often emerge from the spaces where we allow ourselves to grow.
Trust your journey. Rest your soul. Always leave people better than you found them and have a grand day and a jubilant weekend ahead! 👽🫶🏻🧿
